| Request: | The Orchard Mesa Irrigation District, in partnership with the Grand Valley Water Users Association, are requesting a Conditional Use Permit to replace an existing hydroelectric power plant with a modern facility. This new plant will be capable of generating 4.5 MW and producing approximately 22,380 MWHrs of electricity annually. The new facility will be built adjacent to the existing facility and use the existing canal delivery system and existing channel to return water to the Colorado River. The new plant would operate under a lease with the Bureau of Reclamation. |
